Travel Journal: The night before our trip on The Holland America Alaska Cruise
My husband and I are so excited to share our trip with you! We flew from Miami International Airport to Seattle, Washington. We decided to splurge on first class tickets since the flight Is over 5 hours long. However, this definitely wasn’t worth the money. A first class seat that doesn’t lay flat is just an expensive meal. I also didn’t bring my neck cushion! So, I played the sleeping bobble head game throughout the flight. That can be both hilarious and frightening at the same time.
We arrived in Seattle, Washington last night. I love seeing a new city for the first time, and this trip wasn’t any different. I always wonder if the city will resemble its personification painted on television or if it will remind me of a place that I have been to before. I also ask myself if I can imagine myself moving to the location. I’m not sure why I do this. I’m extremely happy in Florida...maybe it’s the nomad spirit within me that I suppress.
We arrived at our hotel by midnight. We decided to make the most of our trip and catch an Uber to have a late bite. We went to Rocco’s. It’s a Italian restaurant in a narrow store front with music pumping and the most amazing aromas pumping out to the curb. For a girl that chose an inedible meal on the plane, going into Rocco’s was the easiest decision ever. The restaurant had a long line of people waiting outside and a bouncer at the front door checking identification. This was different, but we went with it. Once we were in the restaurant, we sat at the bar and had a Cesar salad and a pizza. The Cesar salad was incredible. It was fresh, had a perfect dressing to salad ratio, and the croutons were seasoned perfectly. The pizza was good too. I‘m a NY girl so I wouldn’t say it’s the best pizza that I’ve ever had, but it can definitely hold its own. By the time we were done eating, it was 1:30 am in the morning. The line at the door had grown longer and some people looked like they were just getting started with their night.
My husband and I tried our best to take in as much of the Seattle night life, but our bed was calling us. 📢 😴😴 We grabbed an Uber, headed back to our hotel and called it a night.
Stay tuned for our next day .....
