Top 7 Reasons to Visit Beaches Negril, Jamaica

In all of my years of travel, I have never traveled to a Beaches resort. Maybe it's because I don't have children....maybe it's because of the price tag....or maybe I just assumed that the Sandals resorts that I visited had to be more luxurious because it was catering to adults. I'm not quite sure of the exact reason that Beaches resort was not on my radar. However, now that I have been to one Beaches location I want to go to all of them.

In February 2019, my family and I headed to Sandals Negril in Jamaica. We were told that we could travel to Beaches Negril for a small fee for an entire day. We took the trip on the second day of our trip and we went back for a visit every day for the remainder of our trip.

I want to take this time to share several reasons why you should visit a Beaches resort:

1. The food is incredible

The food at Beaches Negril was so much better than Sandals Negril. The presentation, buffet facility, and taste was drastically better at Beaches Negril. The main dining area is much more modern and is well lit. The buffet area is reminiscent of a restaurant style buffet center. Our best meals were at this resort while we were in Negril. If I could have taken a taxi to Beaches for each meal, I would.

2. The beach is amazing

At Sandals Negril, there is a lot of sea weed in certain locations on the beach. However, the positioning of Beaches does not allow as much sea weed to settle there. Negril is known for great beaches, but the Beaches resort in Negril takes this category to the next level. The water is shallow, crystal turquoise in color, and it looks like one of the nicest beaches in Negril.

I've also been told that the Beaches resort in Turks and Caicos has an amazing beach as well. I can't wait to visit!

3. The water area helps you to become a kid again.

I'm 36, but I think that I turned into a 6 year old at the water park at the Beaches resort in Negril. I was up and down the water slides, sitting under the water buckets to get splashed, and running around with the other kids. Beaches resort allowed me to free my spirit of the usual cares of the world.

4. Oh yeah, and your kids will enjoy it too.

Your kids will have so much fun making new friends, enjoying all of the kid-friendly water and land activities, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. As I walked around the Beaches Negril property, I saw basketball courts, ball games, kid centers, and Sesame street characters greeting children.Your kids will have so much fun that they'll forget that you're there! I loved walking around the property in the afternoon and seeing kids fast asleep

on beach chairs because they were having so much fun that they tired themselves out.

5. The property is immaculate

I loved the modern touches throughout the Beaches Negril resort. As soon as you walk onto the property you can see the difference between Sandals Negril and Beaches Negril in regards to renovations. Every spot is clean and in order. The resort is extremely impressive.

6. The staff is friendly & hospitable

Sandals Negril has a great staff and we were taken care of very well. However, there were a few people at Beaches Negril that became a part of our family by the end of the trip. We looked for them each day and they seemed to be looking for us too!

7. The atmosphere is different

It's just natural that a resort with kids is going to be more laid back than a luxury resort for adults only. No matter how nice the resort is, kids will always humble any parent and create a good laugh for those around.

Unfortunately, I did not see the rooms or get an opportunity to go to the night entertainment. However, I have included a few pictures to help us with our imagination. I hope you take a look at the Beaches resorts in the future. I was definitely impressed and I have a feeling that you will be impressed too!

Beaches Turks and Caicos is next on my list. Let me know if you have questions, comments, or would like me to help you to book a trip at lisa@exclusivetravelpartners.com
