Costa Rica: Day 2 of Secrets Papagayo
Can you imagine the excitement that I woke up with on day 2?! It was Super Bowl Sunday, our group “I Can’t Wait On Friends To Travel“ were going to get to enjoy their first full day, and I was in Costa Rica. Costa Rica has been on my travel list for years so I wanted to pinch myself. The people in our group chose the Preferred Oceanview room or the Bungalow Garden suite. Our room was modern, yet it had a rustic Costa Rican flare. The bed was very comfortable and the room service tasted as if we were in the actual restaurant. The only thing that I would change about the room would be to add more water pressure in the shower and more drawer for my clothes.
My husband and I woke up around 7 am, so we took a look at the the iPad by our bed that list the schedule, room service, and everything that you could possible want to know about the resort. The “sundial“ itinerary stated that there was a morning nature hike at 8:15 am. We walked to the activity center and joined another couple on the hike. The hike was a lot of fun. One of the entertainment staff members, Merari, took us up a mountain on the resort and she talked about the trees, animals, and sites. She has the energy of a bunny, a heart of gold, and the biggest smile. She even have us the best tasting green drink ever to boost our energy at the end of the tour.
Then, we had breakfast at the Seaside Grill. This restaurant is only open all day, but it is only open for breakfast and lunch for preferred guests. They have breakfast smoothies and an amazing assortment of breakfast items to choose from. In my opinion, the Seaside Grill and Aqua restaurant have the best breakfast dishes at the resort.
Throughout the day, there were dancers, football shows, and a super bowl party in the amphitheater. They even had a live band and a food truck. The staff decorated the main area with football decorations beyond our belief. This is my second time at a Secrets resort for the Super Bowl and I can say that they impressed me both times. I felt like I was tailgating all day. Our Facebook group, “I Can’t Wait On Friends To Travel“ sat together at the super bowl party. There were a few technical difficulties with the screen, but it was quickly repaired and the party continued. Imagine celebrating the super bowl in paradise!
If you haven’t joined our Facebook group, “I Can’t Wait On Friends To Travel“ make sure that you join today. Also, stay tuned so I can tell you about Day 3. We had a full excursion with Frank the Tank!
