Baciami: Italian Hospitality at its Best

Baciami is a new Italian restaurant in Boynton Beach. It’s a family oriented restaurant that truly embraces the authentic Italian experience. The staff and culinary chefs try their hardest to make sure that you feel like you went to your mother’s house for dinner by providing dishes made with love and creating an inviting atmosphere for you and your guests. The restaurant has an extensive menu including Neapolitan pizza, pastas, traditional Italian dinner entrees, and lighter dishes for healthier eaters.

When I entered the restaurant, it felt like a higher end Italian restaurant with traditional roots. The colors of the restaurant were warm, rich, and inviting and there seemed to be a social energy in the restaurant. At the bar, people smiled, laughed heartedly, and engaged in conversation while holding a drink in their hand. There were also a few tables with families dining together.

My husband and I were able to sample quite a few dishes at Baciami. We started off with the Neapolitan pizza. The pizza is cooked in a brick oven (imported from Italy) and cooked at 900 degrees for 2.5 minutes. This pizza concept originated in Naples, Italy. Its traditions include using simple and fresh ingredients such as dough, tomatoes, cheese, basil, and olive oil. Neapolitan pizza dates as far back as the 18th century. In addition to the pizza, we had a few other appetizers. We ordered the eggplant and shrimp oregenato. They were both delicious choices. I could taste the high quality ingredients used to make the eggplant. The eggplant was rich and flavorful. It tasted like someone's mother was in the kitchen preparing Sunday dinner. The shrimp oregenato was my favorite appetizer. The shrimp was juicy and seasoned well. Also, the dish was very healthy. The shrimp is accompanied by grilled white beans. It can be hard to find a healthy dish at an Italian restaurant, but Baciami manages to have quite a few.

For our main course, I had the grilled jumbo scallops with creamy asparagus risotto and crisp pieces of swiss cheese. I enjoyed my meal. I've never seen the crisp swiss cheese used with risotto and the cheese lover in me really liked it. My husband had the braised short rib pasta. The braised short rib pasta comes with broccoli rabe, demi sauce, and jumbo rigatoni. The rigatoni comes straight from Italy and has to be cooked a little longer because of the consistency of pasta in Italy. When Baciami says they're authentic, they mean it!

For dessert, I ordered the carrot cake and my husband ordered the tiramisu. The carrot cake was good, but the tiramisu was amazing. It is so delicate at the same time, and it melts in your mouth. It is definitely on my top 5 tiramisu list. We washed down our desserts with the cutest chocolate milk ever! It's not on the menu yet, but the manager makes it with Baileys. As you can imagine, Baileys makes everything taste better! The other desserts (pictured to the left) is a cannoli that the couple beside me ordered. It looked absolutely devine, but I was pretty full by this point.

We had a great time at Baciami. The staff was extremely hospitable. The servers explain the menu very well and help you to make a choice that will benefit you. The manager, Jared Rodriguez, remembered my name before the end of the dinner and you can tell that he puts his heart into his work. The chef, aka Chef Anthony, is so passionate about his art. He talks about his dishes with pride because he is putting his heritage and traditions onto each plate. I was really impressed by the team at Baciami. They definitely know how to make you feel welcome.

The price is higher than your standard casual eatery but this is not your typical commercial Italian restaurant. The recipes are from the families of the owners, the ingredients are imported from Italy, and the presentation is beautiful.

Would I recommend it? If you like authentic Italian food, then you will enjoy this restaurant. If your idea of amazing Italian food is more of a commercial Italian-American chain, then this may not be the restaurant for you. The food is great, the ambiance is beautiful, and the staff is extremely warm. Stop by and send me an email (contactus@thefloridapalate.com) to let me know what you think.
