Saltwood Charcuteri and Bar: Orange Meets Peach Series

"Saltwood Charcuterie and Bar" is located on the first floor of the Loews Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia (midtown). It is actually one of my favorite restaurants from my Georgia trip because they were consistent, served high quality food, and the service was incredible. Before arriving in Georgia, I went through lists of the best restaurants in Atlanta. Surprisingly, I had no idea that a hidden treasure of Atlanta was going to be a few stories below my room.

Quality: The quality of the restaurant is high, but it maintains a casual ambiance. I have included a snippet of each meal that I had at the "Saltwood Charcuterie and Bar:"

Lunch: I decided to have the salad bar. I love a good salad, as long as it's done correctly. Salads are not the tomatoes, cucumbers, and croutons of my childhood. Today, salads should be filled with texture, contrasting bitterness and sweetness, and lots of color. "Saltwood" is not your typical salad bar. They have some of the freshest ingredients lined up to place in a bowl that is provided at the start of the salad bar line. You pick your lettuce, salad accessories, salad dressing, and protein. I loved that the protein options weren't cold strips of turkey or chicken offered at other build-your-own-salad spots. They offered freshly grilled steak, chicken, and shrimp. You could pick one protein or all three! Even more shocking, the entire lunch was less than $15! I absolutely loved my salad. "Saltwood" just gets it. They know how to provide a healthy option in a hearty manner.

Dinner: I ordered the full fish with vegetables, one of my cousins ordered the fried chicken entree with a buttermilk biscuit, potato puree and gravy, and my other cousin ordered a Farro Bowl (picture below: a healthy option of brussel sprouts and fried organic tofu). We were all really satisfied with our portion size, taste, and overall presentation of the food.

Lobby/Bar: In the lobby, I ordered the lamb skewers and a flat bread served with a thinly sliced, roasted pork. Oh my gosh! I ate this like it was my last meal! The lamb was perfectly seasoned and came with a mild cucumber sauce. The flat bread brought me into carb heaven. I knew I should of stopped, but I just couldn't do it. My brain kept saying, "slow down" but my tongue and my stomach were refusing to listen. These are a must try when you are hanging out in the lobby.

Service: "Saltwood" servers work in the restaurant and in the lobby. In the restaurant, the servers are very helpful in explaining the menu and helping you to find an entree that will meet your palate. In the lobby, we had an opportunity to get to know our servers a little bit better and they are really sweet ladies. By our last night at the hotel, the servers felt like friends.

Cleanliness: The restaurant is very clean. I am very particular when I dine out, and I was very pleased with the surroundings and how the food was served.

Price: For the quality offered, I think that the food is priced very well.

Experience: The experience is top notch. The hotel and the restaurant feel like a resort because of the service and high quality provided. I would really recommend this restaurant for everyone. If you want a girls' outing, a business outing, a romantic night out, or you just want to get some contemporary southern cooking; you've found your location.

Extra information: I didn't see any children when I dined at this restaurant. That doesn't mean that it is not kid-friendly, but it is an observation that I made. However, interestingly enough, I didn't see any kids while staying at the hotel so that could reflect the population at the restaurant.

The restaurant is not only for hotel guests. It is open to the public, so if you are a Atlanta, Georgia resident....make sure that you take advantage of what's right in your backyard.
