Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort: One of the best resorts on the island!
Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort may be on the west coast of Florida but it feels like you took a plane to the Caribbean or sailed right into paradise. As you approach this hotel, you will immediately detect the change in your mood. The beautiful palm trees are placed along the side of the road, almost pointing you in the direction of your vacation. The attendants greet you at your car and you can almost see the certainty in their eyes that they know that you're going to really enjoy your experience. Then, you walk into the resort and you almost have to question whether or not you're in a Marriott establishment. Truthfully, I like Marriott and my husband is even a rewards member, but this resort exceeds any Marriott standard that I have ever seen.
Quality: The quality of the resort is quite evident around every corner. As you walk to your room, you will see the time, effort, and money that goes into keeping this establishment looking so beautiful. The walls of the hallway are draped in a dark wood, the outdoor upkeep is breathtaking, and the food at their restaurants that I have eaten at are incredible! The rooms are very spacious. The bed is probably one of the most comfortable that I have slept on. My husband and I have actually called the front desk in the past to ask them how we can get one! You know that food is everything to me and it can change my entire perspective of a resort. However, the Marriott resort does not disappoint! The Tropical buffet was incredible, but I have been told that it has been changed to a new name. There are a few small food vendors that serve pizza and typical bar food. I honestly haven't been disappointed. The tropical inspired outdoor restaurant by the water is really great! The food is fresh and the view is beautiful. You can't lose!
Service: The front desk and concierge service have been groomed well and offer the highest form of hospitality. They are very helpful and seem like they genuinely want you to enjoy your stay. Their quality service extends beyond the front desk, and cascades to their room service, bar service, and throughout the remainder of the hotel. I have traveled across the country and internationally, and the service provided here really exceeds the traditional American hospitality.
Cleanliness: I have been to this resort six or seven times, and I have never had a problem with cleanliness. The rooms are immaculate, the premises are well kept, and the restaurants are very clean. The sand on the beach is very clean, but the sand has a lot of shells so you have to be careful with your feet. The beach looks beautiful from a distance, but it is not one of the better Florida beaches in regards to clarity. I have placed my feet in the water, but I tend to stay by the pool at this resort.
Price: This category is difficult assess because the price fluctuates drastically at this resort. If you pick the right season, you can stay at this resort and get a package deal at a minimal cost. However, I have inquired about this resort during the holiday season or during other peak times, and I couldn't believe how high the price could be!
Experience: For my Florida residents, this is the perfect resort to go to if you want an amazing vacation, but you don't want to leave the state. For my out of towners, this is a great place to see the beauty of Florida and enjoy a relaxing time that includes the pool, the beach, and great food! Remember, Marco Island is a slower island, similar to the Caribbean, so don't expect a big night life scene. There are several places to visit outside of the resort, but this is definitely not an Orlando vacation.
Extra information: This resort is very child friendly. There is a waterslide, child entertainment, and an arcade room. We had our family reunion here a few years ago and the resort provided something for everyone. The older crowd hung out by the pool without the slide. Therefore, there were less kids. Some people enjoyed the beach and other played volleyball or football on the sand. This reosrt has an entire unit designated to its spa services. I have never tried their spa. However, I have friends that have driven over an hour to enjoy their spa for the day. I have recently read that the hotel will be turning into a JW Marriott in 2017. I will make sure to visit and update you with all of the changes. Here is a picture of the renovated rooms:
Would I recommend it: Absolutely! I've gone as a couple and with my family. It is definitely on my top ten list for my favorite resorts in Florida. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have more questions about this resort.
