J. Alexander's: Tasty Wood-Fired Cusine
Some restaurants are tried, blue, and true. J. Alexander's is an American contemporary dining establishment that is common in Florida and the remainder of the country. No matter how often you eat there, the high food quality and great customer service is consistent. The J. Alexander's in Boca Raton, like the remainder of the chain has a dimly lit environment with dark wood tables and plush seating. It’s romantic enough for two, but professional enough to hold a business meeting.
The menu is one only one-page but you are bound to find something that you love. The drinks are typical carbonated beverages, juices, or alcoholic drinks. They do not make fruit smoothies or daiquiris. The restaurant does not serve complimentary bread, but they have great appetizers to choose from. For the main entrée, I usually get the Cypress salad or the Maui steak. The Cypress salad is a fried chicken tender salad with fresh avocado and cornbread croutons. The baked cornbread croutons make the salad so unique! The Maui steak is glazed in a sweet sauce and melts in your mouth. All of their sides are great, but their smashed potatoes and skinny fries are irresistible. I’ve enjoyed all of my meals here except for their fish entrees. They usually offer a daily selection, but it never seems to compare to the other options on the menu.
The desserts are delicious! The carrot cake is served hot and can be shared among a few guest. Also, the chocolate cake and ice cream is another great choice.
Extra information: You cannot place an order by phone for pick-up. You have to place all pick-up orders in person. They do not deliver.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. I’ve been to the Boca Raton, Plantation, and Orlando location, and I haven’t been disappointed yet. I actually believe that the Boca Raton location has the best food!
